Overview
Departing from Windhoek , this tour takes you 10 day through savannah, coastal, dunes and desert landscape. This luxury camping tour requires minimum participation and includes two nights sleep in Swakop hostel.
After leaving Windhoek the first stop will be Okondjima. The following day you will be heading up North to Etosha National park. After two days in Etosha you will move westward to Damaraland, Twyfelfontein. You will then move to the south through the coastal Town of Swakopmund. Two days later you will move down south again to Sossusvlei. Two days later the tour will be finished in Windhoek.

What to Expect


Day 1
Windhoek- Okonjima
You will be picked up from your accommodation between 8:30-9:00. We drive north, passing through a small town called Okahandja, where we could visit Namibia’s largest wood carving market. This is one of the best place to buy souvenirs. We proceed north through farmland and arrive at (Okonjima) in the afternoon, we set up our camp, relax a bit before we leave for afternoon activities. Okonjima is home to Africa Foundation, a conservation centre that specialises in African big cats, particularly cheetah. You will be taken on a tour and have an opportunity to meet some of the cheetah, that are part of Africat rehabilitation programme. Most the animals at Okonjima are rescued from destitute situation, either orphaned or caught in a trap. We will then return to our campsite, prepare dinner under the stars.

Day 2
Okonjima – Etosha, Okaukuejo
We wake up early to go visit Ombu village, this is a Otjiherero village where you will learn about their tribe facets, their beliefs and customs, initiation ceremonies, marriage, economic ecosystem and the construction of their house. Guests are encouraged to touch, feel and taste during the tour, as well as ask questions to the villagers and guides. In the afternoon, we will then proceed with our trip to Okaukuejo, we are expected to arrive late afternoon for our first short safari drive.

Day 3
Okaukuejo Camp, Etosha
Today is a full day game drive. We again leave early in the morning after breakfast. Our next stop will be Halali camp,it is situated in the middle of the park. Along the way, we will be visiting several waterholes and spotting different animals such as Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Zebra, Wildebeest, Springbok ect . We stop at Halali for rest and to have lunch, there is time to use the swimming pool, bar facilities, before we make our way back to Okaukuejo main campsite.

Day 4
Okaukuejo – Damaraland Twyfelfontein,
After leaving Etosha, we began our journey south to one of the most beautiful desert region in the country, Damaraland. We will drive through a small town of Kamanjab. We drive west, where we will be visiting the ancient bushman rock Twyfelfontein.
Day 5

Twyfelfontein, Damaraland
Today we are discovering the beauty of twyfelfontein rock engravings, UNESCO World Heritage site, one of the largest concentrations of petroglyphs in Africa. We will admire the most interesting petroglyphs, out of over 2000 works, created centuries ago in the rusty - orange rocks by San people, Bushmen inhabitants of these regions. The site forms a coherent, extensive and high-quality record of ritual practices relating to hunter-gatherer communities in this part of southern africa and eloquently illustrates the links between the ritual and economic practices of hunter - gatherers

Day 6
Twyfelfontein - Swakopmund
After a cool morning and breakfast, we head to the west on the gravel plains on our way to the Atlantic Ocean and the Skeleton Coast. We meet the ocean at Henties Bay, before we visit the seal colony at Cape Cross. The next stop is Swakopmund. In Swakop, everyone will be able to relax more comfortably. Only breakfast will be provided here, to allow you to explore different café and restaurants.

Day 7
Swakopmund
The whole day is a chill, relaxing day. Everyone can do their own things. Swakopmund is a good town stretch of beach, with lots of shops. There are also different activities that can be arranged, such as: aeroplane, microlight, flights over the desert, scenic drivers, fishing trips, quad bike, fat bike, sand boarding skydiving and many others.
Wake up for breakfast and get ready for a cool breeze day. Swakopmund is the adventure capital of Namibia and excursions range from living desert tours, kayaking, dolphin cruise, sandboarding, quad bike, fat bike, 4x4 sandwich harbor tours, skydiving, surfing etc. Take your pick or just relax and enjoy swakop popular restaurants. Activities in Swakop, Lunch and Dinner are not included in this package.

Days 8
Swakopmund – Sesriem
Today, we are heading back into the seemingly endless Namib desert. The landscape will suddenly be changed into the mountain desert. The tour continued driving through the bottom of the canyon. The scenery will change again into the dunes fields. We will then go through the savannah farm lands before we get into the red sand dunes desert of the Namib, and our next stop will be a tiny town of solitaire. We will proceed our journey, the aim is to reach the sesriem campsite late afternoon and set up our camp before we go for sunset at Elim dune.

Day 9
Sossusvlei – Sesriem
We wake up early morning to catch the soft light of the sunrise in the desert. We will be driving into the heart of the dune field, and we will be walking the last 5km through the dunes. The sencery will be amazingly something else. We will spend the morning around Sossusvlei, we will also hike big daddy and dune 45(optional), before we return to Sesriem for lunch to escape the heat of the afternoon. In in late afternoon, after the day cool off, we will visit Sesriem Canyon.

Day 10
Sesriem - Windhoek
After breakfast, we pack all our stuff to begin our journey over the mountains, back to Windhoek. We make a quick stop at Solitaire to stretch our legs before we proceed our journey to civilization. We hope to be back in Windhoek late afternoon, and you will be dropped off at your accommodation.
