the diaspora retreat

02 - 14 November 2026

Reconnect to what has been lost

For many Africans living around the world, coming home to Africa is more than a holiday, it’s a calling. When we reconnect to our roots, we are restored to our full energies, feeling more free, playful and excited than ever before. As we step onto ancestral land and experience ways of life we have been severed from, we are reconnected with our communities and become equipped to create a more equitable world.

Travel consciously

Many ways of travelling can be exploitative, extractive and create more harm than good. Kamatjona is on a mission to create authentic diaspora retreats for the conscious traveller. Kamatjona, meaning “lil bro,” is a hospitality brand founded by Namibian founder Tuta.

Starting as a local B&B, it has now grown into a thriving co-living community in Windhoek, welcoming travellers and digital nomads from all over the world to explore slow living and conscious travel in Namibia.

Find your freedom

For the African who never grew up in Africa, but knows that Africa holds many of the keys to a fuller existence. Who wants to experience Africa on their own terms, independent of family, but deeply connected to community. Kamatjona is a home away from home that brings people together to create a new family based around exploration, experience and adventure.

Our first Diaspora Retreat is opening soon. Spots are limited. The waiting list is now open.
